Top Oil and Gas Producers in Indonesia in 2024

OIL PRODUCTION

Oil production in Indonesia is at 578,272 BOPD at the end of the first half of 2024. Here are the top 10 oil operators in 2024 as of June 30, 2024.

  • Pertamina Hulu Rokan – 157,226 BOPD
  • ExxonMobil Cepu – 143,946 BOPD 
  • Pertamina EP – 66,468 BOPD
  • Pertamina Hulu Mahakam – 25,527 BOPD
  • Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ – 24,962 BOPD
  • Pertamina Hulu Energi OSES – 19,855 BOPD
  • PetroChina Jabung – 14,652 BOPD
  • Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga – 10,580 BOPD 
  • Medco E&P Natuna – 9,991 BOPD
  • Petronas Carigali Ketapang II – 8,770 BOPD

Other operators contribute 96,295 barrels of oil per day.

ExxonMobil Cepu may become the biggest oil producer in Indonesia in 2025 when it completes its 7-well Banyu Urip Infill Clastic drilling campaign that is underway. The first well came on stream in August 2024 at 13,300 BOPD.

GAS PRODUCTION

Gas production in Indonesia is at 6636 MMSCFD at the end of the first half of 2024. Here are the top 10 gas producers di Indonesia with their gas production as of June 30, 2024:

  • BP Berau – 1745 MMSCFD
  • Pertamina EP – 813 MMSCFD
  • Medco E&P Grissik – 748 MMSCFD
  • ENI East Sepinggan- 461 MMSCFD
  • Pertamina Hulu Mahakam – 426 MMSCFD
  • Pertamina-Medco Tomori – 329 MMSCFD
  • PetroChina Jabung – 253 MMSCFD
  • Husky-CNOOC Madura – 207 MMSCFD
  • Eni Muara Bakau – 187 MMSCFD
  • Pertamina EP Cepu – 187 MMSCFD

Other operators contribute 1394 MMSCF of gas per day.

As you can see, Pertamina is Indonesia’s biggest oil and gas company. It produces 57% of the oil and 32% of gas in Indonesia.
