According to SKK Migas, here are the key highlights of oil and gas exploration and production in Indonesia during the first quarter of 2026:
– Oil and NGL production – 599,900 BOPD
– Gas production – 6,675 MMSCFD
– Combined oil and gas output – 1,768 BOEPD
– Investment year-to-date – US$ 3.63 billion
– Exploration wells drilled – 13 YTD
– Development wells drilled – 124 YTD
– 2D seismic surveys – 4,179 km YTD
– 3D seismic surveys – 1,496 km² YTD
– Working areas – 158
SKK Migas has set a target of drilling 100 exploration wells in Indonesia this year.
A notable development came earlier in 2026 when Eni announced a significant gas discovery from the Geliga-1 well in the Ganal work area. This adds to Eni’s track record of major gas finds in the Mahakam deepwater region over recent years.
